At Sandwich Island Design, we have a passion for all things 3D. Creating characters and creatures, allowing visions to become reality. Along the way, we integrate the latest 3D software applications depending on the end goal: Game Engines, Rigging, Animation, Rendering or even 3D Printing.

Low-Poly Assets & Rendering

We design and build 3D models and assets using leading industry software like ZBrush (of course), 3D Coat, and Blender. From creatures to characters to you name it. Then export to your downstream applications in standard formats such as .fbx, .obj. etc.
Rigging & Animating
Using Blender, an internationally accepted suite of 3D functionality, we rig, animate and even render. Rigging characters for MoCap, export to game engines, or for Animating sequences in Blender.

Our process can include making low-poly game ready versions of 3D models with software like 3D Coat, including UV's and baked maps in Marmoset Toolbag.
Unity Game Engine
Our "go to" game engine is widely embraced Unity. It is loaded with features. libraries of code and assets, with the capacity to build endless interactive 3D experiences. We are well versed in importing & setting up models and assets, building scenes, scripting in C# and working with aspects such as lighting, materials and shaders.

My 3D journey began with Blender,
later integrating with Unity game engine.
Then came Sculptris, followed by the one and only
ZBrush. In 3D, there is no single application. For most
projects it involves a "pipeline" of software
and steps.
